One may think that once your Thai lady has a visa,then nothing can stop her arrival,that is not the case Australian immigration can deny someone with a visa including at the airport ,while most of us are used to traveling without getting the third degree from customs some Thai Ladies do get questioned and the answers to those questions are noted including what you put on your arrival card,it is a good idea for the Thai ladies boyfriend to school her on filling out an arrival card and what questions she might face e.g.,"do you have family here?","do you plan to work?" etc.
Although generally not asked for at airports,it is smart to supply your girl with a letter stating she is coming to visit you and you will look after her accommodation and cost of living expenses for the whole time of her stay,also add your mobile phone number so you can be contacted immediately.
There are Cases of Thai girls Thai Ladies being trafficked into Australia under false pretences for prostitution and for working illegally,so it is possible they will get special attention by customs.
For a Thai lady traveling to a foreign country for the fist time it would be daunting for her,so if possible a western man (her boyfriend) should arrange for them to travel together,especially if she has not been on a plane before.
If your Thai lady is traveling alone be sure to meet her at the airport in person,no doubt her nerves and patience will be redlining by the time she picks up her bag from the carousel.
Asian people have a habit of bringing food with them,as presents or gifts,this is a flashing red light for getting extra attention by customs so make sure no food,nuts,plants etc.
Meeting her at the airport is best done alone or perhaps with your parents,but not the whole family or a group of your mates.
If she is not to tired you may want to take her for a quick tour of your city area or town this will give her a chance to wind down and relax before meeting the family or your personal needs.
