Patong beach is the main beach on Phuket this is where you will find the night club,Bar girls and the Thailand locals trying to sell you their budget sunglasses,watches and Thailand Maps if you want hustle and bustle with the noise this is the spot for you if not you may consider going to the Karen beaches which are largely unchanged with the natural beauty one would expect from a tropical island hence it is a lot quieter as well.
Laguna Phuket is a where the more expensive hotels are situated if you have a fatter wallet this is as good as it gets it is closer to the Phuket International Airport than to either Phuket Town or Patong.
if this is your first trip to Phuket or indeed your first visit for a while you will see the similar development of Surin Beach toward the 5 star market,in this area of Phuket Island you will find first rate hotels and eateries and some of the seclusion you looking for. There is more areas of course; Kamala, Rawai, Chalong, Nai Harn and others offer much to Phuket visitors it is not a huge place so spend some time exploring hiring a motorbike or bicycle is a great way to get around and look at the sites.
The backpackers usually go to Phuket Town, which though far from the beach, is laid back and easy to get transportation down to the beach.
